CDAC Progressive Challenges

Well the wait is over and the new Progressive Freebie Challenges have finally started up again. This is my entry in the first challenge and lucky me I was chosen as one of the five stars.

This Tiffany Doodles image was provided for this challenge and was colored using copics and then painted with Close To My Heart liquid glass. I pasted image onto an acrylic card base, added waves to the inside, then embossed cardstock before pasting to the top. The set of clouds were cut on my Silhouette Cameo. Sentiment is from TLC.

I Thought

This Image from Mo's Digital Pencil has always reminded me of my late  father. I guess that 's why I had to have it.  Image colored using copic markers.  Cardstock was cuttlebug embossed.  I silver  embossed some drywall tape on trasparencies so I could pull the tape off easily after it set  and then found I liked the look of what was left as well so I incorporated it with this card. I kept the card fairly simple so I wouldn't detract from he image.

Wishing You

Tall ship image from Beyond the Fringe. The image was simply printed and distressed using Tim Holtz distressing inks. I used a double sided adhesive sheet to adhere the glass beads to the image. For the background base I cut out some gears and used some scrap pieces of drywall tape and placed them randomly on my cardstock. Then I covered the cardstock completely with some metal tape my husband had sitting in his garage. Using a stylus I went around all the shapes to give them crisp, deep edges and distressed  with a staz on ink pad. Before I place the image on the base I added foamboard behind to give solid dimension and then some gauze for effect.

Hero Art sentiment inside.

29ish

I'm thinking of giving this card to someone I know who has been 29 ish for 31 years.
This is my favorite image from Tiddly Inks because I can make her sweetly morbid or just sweet depending on the colors I use.  She was colored using copics then framed with a spellbinder die with gauze added to the background.
The butterfly was cut on my Silhouette Cameo, its fabulous for cutting fine detail like this.   I added I-rock gems to give it a little bling.

My spiral roses  and leaves were also cut on my silhouette.  When I was shaping the roses I found out it works much easier if you dampen them, then curl the petals before rolling them. Treat them gently when rolling them though or they will rip. I added a few feathers to spruce it up a little.
